Mamuns membership was permanently canceled by the board of directors
Bangladesh Film Directors Association has canceled the membership of Ananya Mamun for life. As a result, the producer has no connection with the organization of film directors.
The decision was taken at the biennial executive meeting of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Saturday, January 18, 2021.
Badiul Alam Khokon, secretary general of the board of directors, said Mamuns membership had been canceled with the consent of all members on the basis of allegations against him of tarnishing the associations reputation.
Recently, two people, including the films director Ananya Mamun, were arrested in a case filed under the Pornography Act for allegedly having indecent dialogues with the police in the movie Nawab LLB.
Ananya Mamuns first membership was canceled on December 26, 2015 through an emergency meeting of the board of directors. He was then accused of cheating in the name of co-production and taking membership of the board of directors with fake certificates. Then Mamun got back the membership with a pledge.
Then in 2016, the Bangladesh Film Directors Association banned the membership of director Ananya Mamun for life on charges of human trafficking in Malaysia. This is the third time he has been banned.
